Meet Your 2023-24 STO

Hi Washington Thespians! My name is Sofia Corpening (they/she) and I am so excited to serve as your STO for the 23-24 school year! I am currently a Junior at Everett High School (Troupe 4995), where I am also the vice president of my troupe. I have been in theatre for the past eight years, and during this time, I have found a passion for sharing time, space, and stories with lovely groups of people, whether that be friends, family, or total strangers. As your STO, I hope to amplify this sense of community I have felt for all Washington State thespians of every region. Although I mostly participate as a performer, I have so much respect and admiration for our amazing techies, and as an STO, I hope to shine some light on the incredible realm that is technical theatre. Outside of theatre, you can usually find me rewatching episodes of Gilmore Girls, doing baked goods exchanges with friends, or reading a new book. Again, I am so excited to share this upcoming year with you wonderful Washington thespians! If you want to connect, you can find me on Instagram @sofia.sol.corp and while you're at it, my troupe @everettdramaclub !

I am Charlie Bovey (she/her) and I am thrilled to be joining STO. I am a senior at Redmond High School troupe #5117! I have been a part of theatre for ten years. My favorite theatre memory is when I was in a production of Marvelous Land of Oz and the power went out. While it helped me learn how to continue the show and not panic, it was also incredibly fun finding ways to light the stage and continue to tell the story. In my spare time I am an avid reader and I love writing. I am also a huge music fan, Through being an STO I hope to maintain a positive and inclusive space for everybody! I also strive to make theatre accessible to anybody that wants to take part in it! I am so excited for the upcoming year! Feel free to reach out to me at my instagram @Charlie.Bov

Milo Stuart

Eastlake High School

Hey I'm Milo Stuart (he/they) and I'm a senior at Eastlake High School troupe 5687! I have always loved performing ever since I can remember and I'm super excited to be able to live this dream out! A theatre memory that will stick with me forever is the first in person show back after Covid. Hearing real applause and laughter, and being back on stage after such hard times was an unmatched feeling. Besides theatre, I love my dogs, drinking smoothies, and spending time with friends and family. Through being an STO this year, my biggest goals are to help gather and incorporate feedback from the community, as well as continuing to spread inclusitivity and passion through theatre of all forms. Can't wait for this year!! Find me on Instagram @mgstuart06

Hello! My name is Ella Wissing (she/her) I am a senior at Lewis and Clark High school and a member of Troupe #6356. This year, I am honored and excited to be a part of your 2023-2024 Washington STOs! I have been involved with theater for over a decade now in various positions from leads to ensemble, stage manager to stagehand, and scriptwriter to director. Of these positions, some of my favorite parts include Snail in Frog and Toad, Ensemble in Frozen Jr., and as a stagehand for CLUE. Outside of theater, I am an avid filmmaker and enjoy making short films with my friends as well as working as an editor in my free time. As an STO, I hope to use my film background to elevate our social platforms and use my theater background to connect, serve, and give voice to the rest of the WA state thespians. Have a lovely day! Elle Lutz

Ridgefield High School

I am Elle Lutz (she/her) and I am so incredibly excited to be a Washington State Thespian Officer this year! I am apart of Ridgefield High Schools very own Troupe #8635. Theatre has shaped my teenage years into something so unique and special. I have an incredible passion for theatre in any form and I want to see arts prosper throughout schools everywhere. Theatre has given me a sense of community and family that nothing else can even rival. My favorite theatre memory thus far has been playing Mrs. Peacock in Clue, that cast was so amazing and we were able to come together and make an amazing show. You can usually find me in rehearsal, talking to my bird, stressing out when driving on the freeway, or fangirling over Hozier. My hobbies include writing, reading, drawing, video games, spending too much money on coffee, and (of course) theatre. Theatre is such a special community that so many people can feel accepted and safe in. As an STO, one of my goals is to extend outreach of thespians all over the state to unite and form a larger community outside of our own troupes. I am excited to take on this responsibility and do the best I can to represent our states thespians! Feel free to contact me at my instagram: @elle.lutz19

Hi everyone! My name is Pearl Hoats and I use she/her pronouns. I am in the class of 2024 at Sehome High School, as well as a member of Troupe #4614. Theater has been such an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I would make my little sister act out scenes and songs with me for our friends and family, and when I finally got my first experience in a real show, I never once looked back. Theater is such a beautiful thing; it has changed my life forever and given me some of the most amazing experiences. Coming back to in-person theater after Covid has been so wonderfully healing and powerful. As an STO, I hope to increase equity, inclusivity, communication, and education opportunities for all thespians, as well as listen to all of your ideas and perspectives. Outside of drama I enjoy sailing, reading, and spending time with friends. I cannot wait to meet many of you at events in the future and I am looking forward to an incredible year!!
