There is so much more to do at state!

  • Group of young people on stage in a theatrical performance, with one person in the center singing or acting with arms raised, others watching or waiting for their turn, on a colorful set background.

    Showcase Performances & Technical Showcase

Students who score a Superior at Thespys will be invited to submit a recording of their performance or presentation for the Washington State Thespy Showcase at the Closing Ceremonies of our Washington State Thespian Festival.

Showcased Tech presentations will display in the theater lobby throughout the Festival and be honored during the Showcase Ceremony.

  • A group of women in vintage costumes and headscarves on a set resembling a kitchen or classroom, laughing and reacting with excitement.

    Workshops and Performances

Attend a wide variety of student performances as well as production and performance-based workshops taught by College and National Clinicians. Students decide on what workshops and performances they wish to attend.

  • Empty theater stage with various hanging equipment like lights, wires, and ropes, and a person standing in the middle facing away from the camera.

    Tech and Design Challenges

Backstage Challenge is a great way to bring together a group of FOUR tech-minded or not-tech-minded students to challenge each other across 5 different events: Lighting, Costuming, Knot Tying, Sound Equipment, and Props. Each event is a collaborative experience and is adapted from the Disney BACKStage Challenge at ITF. This is also a learning event so there will be some instruction available.
